Formula One is to race once more at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in 2006 – despite the public relations disaster earlier this year when most teams boycotted the race.
The sport in the US took a massive body blow when seven teams pulled their cars off the starting grid after the warm-up lap in a row over tyre safety.
Just six drivers completed the race in June, amid a chorus of disapproval from disgruntled race fans.
But track officials confirmed the F1 circus will be back on July 2 – the seventh year it has hosted the race.
