EDF agreed a deal with the International Rugby Board (IRB) which sees it become the exclusive partner of energy services for the tournament which takes place in France, while GMF will have similar rights in the insurance sector.
IRB chairman, Dr Syd Millar said: “The tournament’s commercial programme is going from strength to strength and with the backing of companies such as EDF and GMF the IRB is confident that Rugby World Cup 2007 will once again be a world class event.”
The World Cup commercial programme will incorporate six global partners, with EDF and GMF joining Peugeot, and SociC)tC) GC)nC)rale in agreeing deals so far.
