Sylvia Schenk hit out at the UCI for seemingly being more concerned over the leaks of recent stories rather than the issues it raises.
The German said: “The UCI and its president Hein Verbruggen are more interested in finding the leak than clearing up the Armstrong doping case. Since 1998 the UCI has done a lot to combat doping but everything is different where Armstrong is concerned.”
The claims centred around alleged positive drug tests returned by the seven-times race champion, with Schenk directing the criticism at UCI president Hein Verbruggen.
The on-going row over allegations about Tour de France sensation Lance Armstrong has taken a new twist after cycling’s governing body the UCI came under fire from the ex-president of the German Cycling Federation (BDR).
