NASN SECURES NFL RIGHTS IN EUROPE

NASN (the North American Sports Network) has acquired exclusive broadcast rights to the National Football League (NFL) in 17 European countries and shared rights in another four.

Its agreement with the NFL runs from the 2005/06 season through the 2008/09 season and includes Germany, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Portugal and Poland.

It also incorporates HDTV and exclusive IPTV broadcasting rights.

The package enables NASN to broadcast live and "as live" NFL and NFL Europe games including preseason, regular season, playoffs, the Super Bowl, the World Bowl and the Pro Bowl.

In addition to showing extended highlights each week, it has access to programming from the NFL Network.

The new deal marks the first major rights acquisition for NASN since the investment by Benchmark Capital Europe in June, 2005.

Benchmark Capital Europe and Setanta Sports each own 50 per cent of the company.
