In his role, Curry will supervise all of the D-League's programmes that are designed to teach players both on and off the court, including skills training, education and community involvement.
NBA commissioner David Stern said: “Michael has always expressed an interest in helping to develop young players whose potential has yet to be realised. His personal experience in development leagues and ultimately as a valued NBA veteran, makes him a perfect fit to contribute to the mission of the D-League."
Former NBA Players’ Association president Michael Curry has been named the vice president of player development for the NBA Development League.
