INSURANCE COMPANY BACKS NEW PREMIER SQUASH LEAGUE

England's top squash league will be renamed the Premier Squash League (PSL) for the forthcoming season.

A new three-year deal will also see the PSL sponsored by Midlands-based insurance company THB Clowes.

The league gets underway on September 27, leading to the final play-off at the National Squash Centre in Manchester on May 27, 2006.

National League title-holders Wolverhampton head the list of 10 teams that will compete in 2005/06. More than half the world's top 10 men and women will be involved.

THB Clowes Ltd is a specialist niche broker and part of the expanding THB Group plc. The company has been involved in sports insurance for more than 25 years, advising Formula One, Rugby, Cricket and Speedway, as well as individuals and associations within sport.

A further development is the introduction of web streaming for key fixtures throughout the season. Through an agreement between Professional Squash Association and Horizon Software, squash fans around the world can watch live and replayed fixtures via the internet at www.premiersquashleague.com

Online sports equipment retailer www.sportdiscount.com has been appointed as the league's official kit supplier.
