POZNAN LANDS WORLD ROWING CHAMPIONSHIP

The 2009 FISA World Rowing Championships will be hosted by Poznan in Poland.

The decision was made at the Annual Ordinary Congress of the International Rowing Federation (FISA) in Ogaki, Japan on Monday.

Delegates chose to support the FISA Council’s recommendation to select the Malta Regatta course in Poznan over Amsterdam, the Netherlands by 104 votes to 37, reports worldrowing.com

Poznan successfully hosted the 2004 World Rowing Under-23 Championships and also one stage of the 2004 BearingPoint Rowing World Cup.
