There have so far only been a handful of international Twenty20 games
which have proved popular with both spectators and TV broadcasters.
Following a meeting in Dubai of the ICC chief executives' committee, a
spokesman said: "Discussions on the role of Twenty20 cricket in the
international arena led to an agreement that ICC management should
conduct an investigation and evaluation of a range of scenarios in
relation to this particular format. A report will be compiled for
consideration by the ICC board."
The ICC board next meet in Sydney in October.
