The Sport Industry Awards 2006 are now officially open for entries.

Brands, Governing Bodies, PR and marketing agencies and teams are again putting forward their campaigns in the hope of picking up one of the highly coveted Awards at Old Billingsgate, London on April 27, 2006.

The Awards calendar will kick off at the official launch party on September 13, 2005. It will be held at Sport England’s offices in Bloomsbury Square and is set to be attended by some of the most influential names in the sport industry.

Last year's winners included Flora – Flora London Marathon (Best Sponsorship of a Sport Event or Programme), adidas (Best TV Sport Commercial), The Rugby Football Union – Sweet Chariot Tour (Best Promotion of a Sport by a Governing Body) and BBC Sport (Sport Brand of the Year).

This year’s entrants will be judged by a panel chaired by BBC sport’s presenter John Inverdale, who is joined this year by the arrivals of Michael Payne, who joined F1 Management after a 21-year career with the International Olympic Committee, and Ken Schofield, former executive director of the PGA European Tour.

They will be joining current panellists; Roger Draper (chief executive - Sport England), Marzena Bogdanowicz (director of marketing – British Olympic Association), Marcel Knobil (chair of Creative and Commercial Communications), Michael Nutley (editor - New Media Age), David Owen (sports editor – The Financial Times) and Bruce Haines (group chief executive - Leo Burnett).
