Seven teams refused to race after Michelin failed to provide suitable tyres, angering thousands of fans and putting the future of the race in doubt.
But, according to the UK's Daily Telegraph, Ecclestone believes F1 and the US need each other and thinks there is no reason why the race will not go ahead.
He said "unless something drastic comes up" he could not see any problems in staging the race.
Michelin this week began refunding all the ticket money for the US Grand Prix.
