NEW CHIEF AT ESPN STAR SPORTS

Jamie Davis, most recently president of STAR China, will take over from Rik Dovey as managing director of ESPN STAR Sports, the pan-regional sports venture.

Dovey is stepping down after more than nine years at the helm of the ESPN/STAR joint venture. Davis and Dovey will work together over the next six months, with Dovey continuing to lead several ongoing initiatives, reports WorldScreen.com

Davis began his career at STAR in 1996 as the CFO of STAR Sports before being promoted to senior VP of STAR Entertainment. Soon after, he assumed the position of senior VP, overseeing STAR's six movie channels and general entertainment channels.

ESPN STAR Sports has 13 networks: ESPN Asia, ESPN India, ESPN Taiwan, ESPN Philippines, MBC-ESPN (Korea), ESPN Singapore, ESPN Hong Kong, STAR Sports Asia, STAR Sports India, STAR Sports Taiwan, STAR Sports Singapore, STAR Sports S.E.A and STAR Sports Hong Kong.
