The two-year partnership will see the world's largest tournament website linking up with FLi’s 77 club websites. It will enable fans to play against each other online to win seats and major prizes at worldwide poker tournaments.
The deal will be supported by a marketing campaign delivered via the club websites. This is expected to include promotion across the websites and via FLi’s database of 1.5 million registered users.
Tamar Yaniv, head of marketing Europe, for PokerStars.com said: “Poker has a strong association with football with both requiring a combination of passion, skill and luck to be successful, and we are looking forward to working with the FLi on a variety of exciting projects.
"Football and poker communities are similar in that they love to talk about the game and this deal will allow us to target these key groups, to tap into the lucrative football market and develop the credibility of poker.”
FLi is the digital rights holder for 77 English and Welsh Football Clubs, including six from the FA Premier League, 67 from The Football League and four from the Conference.
It was created to manage and develop the internet and mobile rights of its participating clubs, and is the UK’s largest digital football rights holder.
