The new deal will make Coke the longest continuous sponsor of the Olympics through a relationship that stretches back to 1928.
Terms of the sponsorship were not disclosed but the cost of worldwide sponsorships is now in the range of $60million or more for each four-year cycle, reports aroundtherings.com.
The extension – which was signed in China - covers three cycles starting in 2009.
All Coke products are covered in the sponsorship: its flagship cola drink and other carbonated soft drinks, juices and water.
