TICKET SALES BOOST FOR HELSINKI

The 10th IAAF World Championships in Athletics in Helsinki, Finland has enjoyed a timely boost in ticket sales ahead of its opening this Saturday.

Local Organising Committee CEO, Antti Pihlakoski, revealed that “over the last 10 days, there has been a surge in demand for tickets for the World Championships”.

He added: “As at 31 July 2005 75 per cent to 90 per cent of all morning sessions (based on 40,000 full capacity) and 82 per cent to 100 per cent of all evening sessions have been sold.”

Pihlakoski says he is still extremely confident that the remaining seats will be sold as the final media promotion of the event begins to kick in.
