ONLINE ARCHIVE SERVICE KICKS OFF

Soccer fans can relive match highlights via a new searchable video archive (SVA) service from digital rights company, Premium TV.

The service, which launches with FLInteractive (FLI) as its first customer, allows broadband users to download video clips from the FLI’s digital library from the last four seasons, searching by player or by various terms such as ‘goals’, ‘great saves’, ‘funny incidents’ or ‘sending offs’.

The service can also be adapted to any sport.

Companies offering the service can categorise, store and manage content using SVA, which is compatible with all types of video. Users are said to get fast access to the video clips via drop-down fields, searching under pre-defined content search terms.

Users of the service can also create their own personalised archive, storing their favourite sporting moments on the organisation’s website.

For digital rights holders, the SVA represents an opportunity to store, manage and categorise content; and turn dormant archives of footage in to revenue-generating video clips that can be accessed by online subscribers.
