Thomas Pfueller of the German Ski Federation and Stefan Krauss of the German bobsleigh and luge federation both complained about preparations for the event, criticised transportation around the venues and the sky-high price of accommodation for teams.
Pfueller said: "These are shaping up to be the most difficult Games for 20 years. The prices in Turin for accommodation have sky-rocketed – more even than at Salt Lake City."
Meanwhile, Krauss described the training facilities as 'appalling'. He added: "This is the biggest sporting event in the world and we are having to take care of everything ourselves."
TOROC, the local organising committee, said the claims were 'unacceptable' and will give a full detailed defence later today.
Organisers of the 2006 Winter Olympic Games in Turin have been hit by a double-whammy after two winter sport chiefs blasted the city's preparations.
