Pakistan cricket officials say their players will not wear the logo of the title sponsor of the upcoming Super Series in October.

The Pakistan cricket chiefs have moved to prevent any dispute closer to the matches in October by informing the sport’s governing body, the ICC, their players will not display the logos of the event’s naming sponsor, whiskey brand Johnnie Walker.

Drinking alcohol is banned for Muslims in Pakistan.

The ICC Super Series pits the number one team in the world – Australia – against an ICC World XI in both one-day and Test match conditions. So far five Pakistani players have been selected.
