It will be played at the Killarney Golf and Fishing Club from July 28 to 31.
By entering into a long-term partnership with FC!ilte Ireland (the National Tourism Development Authority) and Ryder Cup Ltd, the Challenge Tour hopes to continue to benefit from the legacy of The Ryder Cup.
Since it's inception in 1989, the Challenge Tour has reared a number of Ryder Cup players including Thomas BjC6rn of Denmark, Frenchman Thomas Levet, England's Ian Poulter and Costantino Rocca of Italy.
The Ireland Ryder Cup Challenge will carry a prize fund of euros 130,000 and signals the return of top level golf to the Killarney Golf and Fishing Club, which hosted the Irish Open on The European Tour in 1991 and 1992.
Minister for Arts, Sport and Tourism, John O'Donoghue, TD, said: "Having the Challenge Tour in Ireland is a great boost for golf enthusiasts and our best up-and-coming players. I am sure we will see future Ryder Cup heroes in action at Killarney.
"Importantly, it will also greatly whet appetites for the staging of The 2006 Ryder Cup here in Ireland. From this summer, the level of interest in Irish golf and our golfing product is on a new level internationally and we are working hard to capitalise on this from a tourism point of view."
