AUDEMARS PIGUET ON TIME WITH NEW EVENT

Watchmaker Audemars Piguet has reinforced its commitment to golf and sailing by creating its own unique event.

It has gathered an array of top golfers around the brand to create The AP Golf Ambassador Team.

The leading group of players, who will wear Audemars Piguet colours, includes Nick Faldo, Vijay Singh, Darren Clarke, Miguel Angel JimC)nez, Lee Westwood, Graeme McDowell, Thomas Levet, Charl Schwartzel, Julien ClC)ment and Nora Angehrn.

The Swiss-based watch manufacturer has also decided to associate its involvement in golf and sailing by creating a new competition.

The Audemars Piguet Golf & Yachting Trophy has been created for the benefit of “Audemars Piguet clients, partners and friends”.

Four or five times a year it will offer an opportunity “to vie with one of the Audemars Piguet Golf ambassadors on the world's finest greens” and “to meet the greatest sailors aboard exceptional boats”.

The watchmaker has also supported sailing since 1986. After supporting the UBS Switzerland boat skippered by Pierre Fehlmann, the manufacturer became a co-sponsor of the Swiss Challenge for the America's Cup in 2003.

Alinghi emerged as the surprise winner, returning the Cup to Europe after a 152-year absence.
