INTEREST TURNS TO 2016

Speculation has already begun as to which cities might bid for the 2016 Summer Olympic Games.

The US, South America and Asia are all likely to be bid hot spots for 2016, according to aroundtherings.com

Moscow has already announced its intention to bid for 2016. However, a European candidate is not expected to be a serious contender given London’s status as the 2012 host city.

The US has signalled its intent to launch a new selection process to pick a 2016 nominee, possibly not New York City. Three US cities thought likely to jump in are Houston, Los Angeles and San Francisco.

Holding the Games in parts of the world that have yet to host them, such as Africa or South America, may become a significant factor.
