RYAN TO OPEN INTERNATIONAL SPORTS SECURITY SUMMIT

Peter Ryan, the mastermind behind the security operations at the Sydney and Athens Olympic Games, will deliver the opening keynote address at the second International Sports Security Summit.

It will take place at the Olympic Museum in Lausanne, Switzerland on October 19 to 20, 2005.

Ryan, the former head of New South Wales police, has become established as the world's most experienced sports security specialist and works as a consultant for the International Olympic Committee, other rights holders and major event organisers.

His keynote will set the agenda for two days of presentations, debates and discussions focusing on the security issues at major sports events.

Building on the success of the inaugural event in London last year, International Sports Security Summit '05 will be the world's leading forum for discussion and information sharing among all those whose roles involve organising, sanctioning, bidding for or policing sports events.

The ISSS 05 is presented by Rushmans and partnered by SportBusiness International.

Experts from sports federations, police and intelligence services, government departments and the global security services sectors will draw on their first-hand experience to present papers and lead discussions.

Complementing the conference will be a select exhibition of leading-edge products and services designed to ensure security for athletes, officials and spectators.
