The inaugural event will be played from April 27 to 30, 2006 at the central Florida venue on a composite layout of two of the resort’s courses, the Legacy Course designed by Arnold Palmer and the Independence Course by Tom Watson.
The $2.5million purse puts it alongside the Evian Masters as the highest total prize money for an LPGA event.
There will be weekend coverage on CBS Sports of the final two rounds and a worldwide TV audience will see the 72-hole championship.
A four-year deal was agreed between Ginn Clubs & Resorts, tournament organiser Pantheon International and the LPGA.
