The NBA teams which will hold camps in Europe have not been named .
They will play and hold training camps in four European cities. In addition, a four-team tournament will be held in a fifth city. It will include two NBA teams, as well as the defending Euroleague champion and runner-up.
The move is part of a two-year partnership agreement with Electronic Arts and Euroleague Basketball.
Said NBA commissioner David Stern: “NBA Europe Live will exemplify how sports leagues around the world can work together for the long-term growth of their sport. As the relevance of basketball continues to grow globally, the NBA and EA SPORTS share a vision that delivers basketball, entertainment, music and technology to our fans around the world.
"There was a time when the idea of an NBA team playing an exhibition game in Europe was just going through the motions. Now the question will be whether our teams have enough training camp under their belts to play and win in Europe."
The league is also considering playing exhibition games in China and Latin America in 2006.
An NBA licensee since 1991, EA has expanded its relationship with the league to become an official global marketing partner of the NBA.
EA will work with the NBA to develop interactive basketball programmes around the world, including NBA Europe Live.
