SPORTEL SETS AGENDA

Top sports executives and broadcasters will debate the multiple screens and platforms for delivering sport and the influence of television on sport’s rules and refereeing at the next SPORTELMonaco.

The 16th SPORTELMonaco will be held from October 24 to 27 at the Monaco Grimaldi Forum.

Along with the International Sports Television Program Market, the International Symposium will feature two debates.

Monday, October 24, 2005 at 6pm:

“New screens for sport”

A panel will focus on the multiple screens offered to sports broadcasting by television and new technologies today: mobile phones, Internet and digital radio sets. Experts will discuss the various issues raised by this market evolution as well as the possible revolution in the exploitation of sporting pictures.

Tuesday, October 25, 2005 at 10am:

“The influence of television on sport: rules and refereeing"

Dr. Jacques Rogge, president of the IOC, will invite all participants to an open discussion with sports leaders and broadcasters on how joint decisions can benefit sports disciplines by helping them to improve their format, regulations, the organisation of events, and broadcasting. Refereeing, a controversial issue among TV viewers, will also be part of this debate.
