The channel, which is dedicated to showing great sporting moments, is shifting its play-out to BBC Broadcast from July 1.
The ESPN Classic Sport contract was previously held by Inmedia, owned by the Carlyle Group.
French and Italian language operations will be fed out from the BBC Broadcast Centre at the beginning of next month with subtitled English feeds being distributed from August 1, reports broadcastnow.co.uk
There are currently no plans to broadcast ESPN Classic Sport in the UK.
The six-year fee was not disclosed.
