2012 BID NEWS: KEY COURT WIN FOR NYC STADIUM

Plans for a new stadium in Manhattan were boosted after a court refused to block the sale of air rights over a rail yard that would become the site of the main stadium for the 2012 Olympics.

The 37-page decision by Judge Herman Cahn appears to clear the way for a meeting on Friday by the State of New York Public Authorities Control Board, reports aroundtherings.com

The board, whose three voting members must approve state spending on the stadium, has postponed consideration of the project two times, with the court case cited as one of the reasons.

Said New York City 2012 executive director Jay Kriegel: "The court has ruled in favor of the Stadium and totally rejected all of the bogus arguments intended to stop the project. There is now no longer any reason or excuse for the PACB to delay approval of the Stadium tomorrow."
