The channel offers coverage of live sports including soccer, motorsport, tennis, athletics and cycling.
British Eurosport is the first live dedicated sports channel to be available to Freeview viewers, and will be broadcast daily between 2pm and 11pm.
Freeview gives viewers access to additional digital channels with no ongoing cost after the cost of set-up. Top Up TV, launched in March 2004, gives customers a further 10 channels at £7.99 per month.
Laurent-Eric Le Lay (Eurosport general manager, broadcast), said: “This Top Up TV deal will extend the audience to our channel, as well as ensuring that we are present on all the pay-TV platforms in the UK.
“We see it as a further opportunity to cement our position in the UK as the key sports channel provider for ‘basic’ pay-TV packages.”
