COMPASS LEADS THE WAY FOR MIDDLESEX SEVENS

Foodservice company Compass Group will be title sponsor of the Middlesex Sevens rugby tournament after signing a two-year deal.

Premier Rugby commercial director, Jon Varney, said “This new partnership with Compass Group recognises the revitalised and burgeoning nature of the tournament, as well as the special place the Middlesex Sevens occupies in world rugby.”

Attendances at the Middlesex Sevens have grown from 18,000 to more than 30,000 at last year’s event.

Sixteen teams will compete for the trophy, including all 12 Premiership clubs, NEC Harlequins, winners of the Middlesex Club 7s, Blackheath, the winners of the Powergen Shield, Bedford Blues and last year’s winners, the British Army.

The Compass Middlesex Sevens takes place at Twickenham on Saturday, August 13.
