The deal with Infront Sports & Media gives MMC exclusive free-to-air television rights to all 64 matches of the World Cup in Germany and this year’s FIFA Confederations Cup.
Media Holding will broadcast the events on its Lider TV channel, a commercial station. The rights are exclusive across the territory of Azerbaijan in the local language.
It has also acquired the exclusive free-television broadcast rights to the Final Draw for the World Cup in Leipzig, Germany in December and the 2005 and 2006 FIFA World Player Galas.
Media Holding also has programming rights to the FIFA Official Preview Series (a series of 16 x 26-minute programmes leading up to the World Cup), produced by Infront in association with FIFA.
