A present member of the executive management team his previous roles at the IRB were as IRB Sevens manager and acting head of the tournaments department.

The position is a newly created one following the amalgamation of the tournament and development departments as part of the IRB’s restructuring process.

Egan’s key responsibilities include the delivery of new strategic investment initiatives across the IRB’s international membership, and the planning, management and running of all non-Rugby World Cup tournaments, including age group World Championships, IRB Sevens, the Super Cup and new tournaments to be established under the IRB’s Strategic Plan.
