The five-year deal, which runs until 2010, is part of the club’s overall marketing strategy in a bid to build the profile of the Manchester City’s global brand.
TWI - the television arm of sports marketing giant IMG - won the contract after a tender involving eight other organisations.
It operates websites for more than 60 sporting organisations including Manchester United, the Open Championship, Wimbledon, Tiger Woods and the US Tennis Association.
TWI interactive will also provide commercial consultancy as part of the deal. Work has already started on the project with the launch of the first phase due in July.
