The House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Trade and Consumer Protection hearings will take place on May 18 and 19.
Cliff Stearns, the subcommittee's chairman, proposed the Drug Free Sports Act on April 26. He says legislation is needed to create uniform standards and stronger penalties.
The Government Reform Committee, planning its own bill, has already heard from Major League Baseball commissioner Bud Selig and National Football League commissioner Paul Tagliabue.
Both objected to having World Anti-Doping Agency standards imposed on their sports.
