IRB RWC chairman, Dr Syd Millar, said: “The tournament is now one of the largest sporting events in the world and its prestige is clearly highlighted by the involvement of blue chip companies such as SociC)tC) GC)nC)rale.”
SociC)tC) GC)nC)rale has its headquarters in Paris, the focal point of the World Cup, and will celebrate 20 years of involvement with the game in 2007.
It was a sponsor of the 1999 IRB Rugby World Cup and its current commitments include the French national team, the French Rugby Federation, the French National League, several amateur clubs and the European region of the IRB, FIRA - AER.
