A new 'sports-minded school' label is one of the ideas to emerge in the Luxembourg Presidency's conclusions following the informal meeting of sports ministers on April 28 and 29, reports euractiv.com
A competition to become the 'Most sport-minded school in Europe' was held last year as part of the European Year of Education through Sport 2004.
Meanwhile, at the annual conference of the CCPR on May 5 to 6, an umbrella organisation representing national sports organisations in the UK, chief executive Margaret Talbot underscored the lack of UK government funding (£21 per head) compared to France (£112 per head).
She said that there must be a link between investment and the UK being at the head of the league for heart attacks and obesity and bottom of the league for participation in physical activity.
