PAIR STEP INTO LIMELIGHT

Limelight Projects, the company behind the delivery of mass participation grassroots programmes in the UK, has created two senior roles within its business development team.

Ian Mollard becomes project director, charged with spearheading a drive to acquire new business in both the mass participation sporting sector and grassroots development programmes.

He has 14 years of event management and marketing experience, previously working with clients including Nike, Adidas, Budweiser, Kellogg's and Footlocker, and has created and managed European basketball initiatives for the NBA.

Mollard said: “Events such as the 2004 Nike RunLondon, with 30,000 participants running at night, and the London Youth Games, with its focus on youth sport, demonstrate Limelight’s ability to not only deliver ambitious projects but also to build mutually beneficial partnerships between the commercial and public sectors.”

Samantha Brock has been appointed marketing manager to promote Limelight Projects and its event and project management services. In addition, she will identify and target areas for new business development.

She said: “With the 2012 decision at the forefront of everyone’s minds and current governmental concerns regarding the nation’s health and fitness, there is a huge amount of interest in mass participation sporting events, which blue-chip companies are utilising to meet their corporate social responsibility and business objectives.

The company’s existing client base includes BT, Nike, Capital FM, Comic Relief, JPMorgan, Swimathon Foundation and the London Youth Games.
