Samsung will also bring back its Olympic Rendezvous, a popular meeting point for athletes and families at the Games and a showcase for Samsung’s wireless products, reports aroundtherings.com
The Seoul-based firm, which recently agreed a £50million shirt sponsorship deal with Premier League champions Chelsea, holds the wireless communications category for Turin 2006 and Beijing 2008.
The company will use a new brand for its Olympic wireless efforts, to be called WOW, for Wireless Olympics Works. Samsung is set to supply more than 8,000 of its wireless phones for staff, athletes, volunteers, officials and media in Turin.
Samsung will also be a presenting partner of the Olympic Torch Relay along with Coca Cola.
