George Blackie and former Scotland great Andy Irvine are both in the running to land the role of president of the Scottish Rugby Union (SRU).

Blackie is the union's senior vice-president and former Glasgow District chairman.

Former Scotland skipper Irvine won 51 caps for Scotland and featured in three British Lions tours.

The election will take place at SRU’s annual general meeting on June 24. Presidential candidates are now required to have the written backing of 10 clubs.
