Qatar’s Khalid Al-Mohannadi was elected as deputy president whilst Australia’s Neil Harwood becomes the executive vice president (finance).
Elected as vice presidents were: Claude Bergeret of France, Koji Kimura of Japan and Ivo-Goran Munivrana of Croatia.
Adham Sharara was returned unopposed as president and China’s yuang Shu’an retained his position as one of five executive vice presidents.
It was also decided at the meeting to award the 2008 World Table Tennis Championships to China.
The Volkswagen 48th World Championships are being staged in Shanghai, China from April 30 until May 6, 2005.
