Gary Smith, chief executive of World Bowls, said: “Already we have staged a very successful inaugural World Cup in Hong Kong, and the future of that competition is already secured for the next two years with Warilla Bowls and Recreation Club in Australia playing host to the event (including TV coverage through ABC in Australia).
“We feel the time is right to grow bowls on a global basis and we hope we can do this in partnership with 110sport.”
World Bowls, whose headquarters are in Edinburgh, Scotland, are responsible for the administration of bowls (indoor and outdoor) and the staging and sanctioning of major events, including the World Championships, World Cup and Champion of Champions.
It is also officially affiliated to the Commonwealth Games Federation and to the International Olympic Committee, through the CMSB (Confederation Mondiale des Sports de Boules).
110sport represent over 100 clients in sports such as soccer, rugby, golf, snooker, boxing, horse racing and motorsport. They will also act as a press office for World Bowls.
