REAL LAUNCHES INTERACTIVE ASIAN SHOW

Soccer giant Real Madrid Club and Interactive Sports Television Ltd. (ISTV) have agreed to jointly develop and broadcast an interactive television programme to be launched in several of Asia’s soccer markets this autumn.

Local-language editions of the show, Realmadrid Life, will be broadcast weekly throughout the season – from August to June – on free-to-air television in China (including Hong Kong and Macau), South Korea, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore.

Realmadrid Life is a sports and entertainment magazine that offers fans the opportunity to connect with the club and the lifestyle of its star players, combining content produced by Real Madrid TV with exclusive new content commissioned by ISTV.

Local market presenters prompt viewer response, implemented via mobile and fixed line telephone networks, to provide an opportunity for fans to communicate directly with the club.

The show will offer a range of prizes, including interviews with the players, personalised merchandise, and the opportunity to travel to Madrid, all expenses paid, to watch Real Madrid play at the Bernabeu stadium. Winning fans can also record video-diaries about their experiences for inclusion in future local editions of the show.

Alex Wrottesley, managing director of ISTV, said: “Over the past few years the popularity of Real Madrid in Asia has grown exponentially, but the relationship between the fans and the club is still at an early stage.

“Realmadrid Life provides an inside view of life at the club that goes beyond a traditional highlights show, creating a real dialogue with the fans.”

“As the official weekly magazine the show of the club in these countries, Realmadrid Life represents an important part of our continued strategy to build the club’s profile in the region”, said Michael Novack, director of Real Madrid Television.
