BLATTER CONFIRMS BID FOR THIRD TERM

FIFA chief Sepp Blatter has reaffirmed at this week's SportAccord in Berlin that he will stand for a third term as president of soccer’s governing body.

Blatter has already won two terms – and is due for re-election in 2007.
He had originally announced he would step aside when his current term in office reached an end but has since reversed his decision.
Blatter told delegates at SportAccord: “I will make myself available once more in 2007, if I stay healthy and if the federations want me.”
