A number of Dutch politicians are calling on the government to introduce a ban after trouble flared up before and after last weekend’s game between Feyenoord and Ajax.
Police were injured and more than 40 fans arrested following clashes.
The MPs say the cost of policing such high-risk games, and the cost of subsequent damage is a price too high.
Away fans could be banned from attending key games in the Dutch soccer league after recent crowd disturbances.
