MEGA CHANNEL LOSES GREEK CHAMPIONS LEAGUE RIGHTS

Greek free to air broadcaster Mega Channel, a long time broadcast partner of UEFA, has missed out on the rights to the Champions League from 2006-09.

Instead, Greece will be covered by a deal in which pay TV operator SuperChannel has first choice of Tuesday night games while state broadcaster ERT will have the pick of Wednesday night action.

Both will feature highlights programming.
In the last deal all three broadcasters had a slice of the action with ERT and Mega screening Tuesday and Wednesday’s main games and SuperChannel providing comprehensive coverage of all other games.
