Dato’ Paul Mony Samuel is set to become the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) deputy general secretary.
He was the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) general secretary for 17 years. He left FAM in 2000 to take up a position as FIFA development officer, based in Kuala Lumpur, as well becoming the Asean Football Federation (AFF) general secretary.
Dato’ Peter Velappan, who has been the AFC general secretary from 1978, is to retire in 2007 after 30 years in the role.
