TV DEAL FOR BRAZIL/ARGENTINA QUALIFIERS

World Champions Brazil and South American arch-rivals Argentina will have their 2006 World Cup qualifying matches televised in Scandinavia and Turkey under new distribution agreements, rights owner Traffic Sports Marketing has announced.

The agreements reached with Viasat for Scandinavia and Kanalturk for Turkey were negotiated by London agency RDA Communications.

Traffic’s new distribution agreements in Scandinavia and Turkey extend distribution of South American World Cup Qualifiers to a record 40 countries in Europe, including the UK, Germany, Italy, Spain, Belgium and a record 158 countries worldwide.

Brazil play Peru on 27th March in Round 12 of the South American Qualifying tournament, featuring the continent’s 10 countries, from which four qualify automatically for the 2006 World Cup in Germany, with the fifth-placed country playing-off against Oceania champions, Australia.
