ESPN CLASSIC SPORT LAUNCHES IN CROATIA

ESPN Classic Sport has now spread its coverage to Croatia, via cable TV operator, Digital City Media (DCM).

It brings the total number of countries broadcasting the entertainment sports network to 40.

DCM, which offers up to 40 different TV channels, including CNN, The Discovery Channel, MTV and Cartoon Network, is the largest national cable TV company in Croatia, providing cable television services in Zagreb, Split, Osijek and Solin.

Said Roch Pellerin, managing director of ESPN Classic Sport: “Initially, the concept of launching a pan-European, entertainment, sports channel was tough, however increasingly, operators recognise how it complements real-time, live sports coverage, and ESPN Classic Sport is becoming a staple channel in the programme line-up. There is a great appetite for sports fans to watch legendary sporting encounters and we are happy to offer this to viewers.’

In addition to the regular sporting programme schedule, in June 2005 a film entitled ‘The Last Yugoslavian Football Team’, is to premiere on ESPN Classic Sport.
