UK SPORT CONTINUES CHIEF EXEC SEARCH

UK Sport has been forced to continue its search for a new CEO, with no suitable candidate having yet emerged.

In a statement, UK Sport, which is responsible for delivering elite level sporting performance in the UK, said that no appointment had been possible despite “a rigorous and highly objective process of search and selection” and the use of an “external management assessment company”.

It added that while each of the short-listed candidates were acknowledged to have “great strengths”, none possessed “the full range of leadership skills and experience required”.

Sue Campbell, UK Sport’s Chair will again lead the recruitment process, working with a panel involving UK Sport Council Members, representatives from the Home Country Sports Councils, National Governing Bodies and the Department for Culture Media & Sport.
