The deal is believed to be the largest ever sportswear deal for an Australian sporting team.
Speedo will supply every Australian swimming team with pool deck apparel, swimwear and accessories for training and competition, it’s also investing heavily in the sport for the next generation of champions.
The brand, in conjunction with Swimming Australian Ltd, plans to market Australian swimming and the team to a global audience, in a bid to take the sport to a new level.
Speedo is also developing Australian team replica kit so fans around the world can show their support. The replica kit will be launched, marketed and sold worldwide.
Tony Wood, president of Speedo International Ltd, said: “We believe this is one of the most exciting deals in the history of swimming. This sponsorship is as a direct result of the team’s phenomenal performances and success.”
The partnership will start at the 11th FINA World Championships in Montreal this year, where Speedo is a major sponsor.
