He was previously the founder and president of Gemini Sports and vice president of sales/new business at Envision, where he led the company’s sales and marketing efforts for its naming rights properties.
In his new capacity, Yowell will be responsible for heading up The Bonham Group’s sales division, representing properties such as the Golden State Warriors, Columbus Crew, Kroenke Sports Enterprises, the University of Miami and New Orleans Hornets.
During his career, Yowell has been responsible for negotiating more than $250million in corporate sponsorships and naming rights agreements, most recently concluding a 10-year, $3million naming rights deal with First Horizon Bank for Greensboro, North Carolina’s new ballpark.
His recent projects included marketing the corporate sponsorship opportunities for the City of Sports, a 62-acre, 7,500 room sports and entertainment resort in Las Vegas, and Sundance Motorsports, owner of a two-truck race team in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.
At Envision, Yowell served as the point person for the SAVVIS Center negotiations and directed all the sales efforts for Envision naming rights and sports property clients.
