IPSWICH POWER BOOST

Championship soccer club Ipswich Town has renewed its relationship with main sponsor Powergen for the 2005/06 campaign.

The deal will see the UK's largest integrated energy company enter its third season as Main Club Sponsor.

Mike Thompson, sponsorship manager, Powergen, said: "With so many Powergen customers across East Anglia, Ipswich Town Football Club represents an excellent fit for us and we’re very excited to be taking up our option to renew for a further season and building on our already excellent partnership with the club.

"Our sponsorship means far more to us than simply displaying our logo on the front of the playing shirts. It actually enables us to communicate with ITFC fans as well as the wider community. We’ll be continuing to work closely with the club to ensure that even more fans can benefit from our partnership and are given the opportunity to gain closer access to the club they feel so passionately about."

Powergen will be working alongside the club to broaden its existing range of opportunities for fans. These include match day experiences for children, Powergen Football Skills Masterclasses for schools and local clubs, as well as behind-the-scenes trips to the training ground at Playford Road.

These opportunities will be available from the beginning of next season and will be promoted through competitions in the local media as well as in the match-day programme.
